There is very limited evidence regarding waterpipe cessation interventions.
Waterpipe smoking is associated with both short- and long-term adverse health effects . A review of cessation interventions for waterpipe smoking found three RCTs. All three studies showed a benefit of the intervention over control (two behavioural only and one included a behavioural + bupropion intervention); however one small study effect did not reach significance.
